College & DC reto.
August 18, 2016 hello friends!!
i figure i am long overdue for a bolivia update (sorry to those who expected me to write more in my time there - we were just so busy!) but i am now settled back into college for my sophomore year at app state, and while it has been an incredibly difficult transition, i have been surrounded by a community of friends who are loving me so well and allowing me to take my time adjusting back to this reality - praise God for them!!
its my third day of class. i am currently sitting outside of my intro to communications classroom because public speaking let out early. my headphones are in, sound turned way up, and our sidewalk sunday school playlist from the summer is blasting in my ears. and what should start playing first? yep - vida by dc reto (shoutout to those guys, we listened to them allllllll summer long).
at sidewalk sunday school, this would typically be the first song we play at each new location/time for sidewalk. for me it always indicated that it was time to start: something new, something fresh. a new team, a new location, a new group of kids. this is the first time i’ve listened to this song since being home (mainly because i’d cry any other time. oops.). so what does that indicate? that this is something new - a new season. a new location. a new group of people. its a new start, a new beginning. so like any sidewalk, i’ll jump in with both feet and give it all the energy i’ve got, as if i have never experienced it before. it’s time to embrace this new adventure God has in front of me, and it’s up to me to decide HOW I will embrace it.

so there’s my update! its not much because my heart is still processing and adjusting, and honestly it may take a while for that to come full circle. but I am so grateful for the peace and provision of God during this time!! thank you all for continued prayers and support - it truly means the world!.
